Fort Collins for Workcation

After a great weather day and hike at Horsetooth the temperatures dropped back down and then we got another rainy day on Tuesday. Which was fine with us as it just got us more excited for Workcation starting on Wednesday, the first of June. A warm house and sharing a space with close friends just got even more exciting. For that last rainy day we busted out our little Mr. Buddy heater and warmed up the van while enjoying one of our last days on the road in the van for a bit.

On Wednesday we were able to get into the Airbnb for Workcation early which was really great. We got ourselves setup, unpacked, and ready to enjoy the next month in the house.

And Workcation? This is our third year of Workcation but it’s basically a month or so where we stay with friends in adventure focused places to work together and go on sweet adventures. Last year was Hawaii and the year before that was Montana. We work during the week and then pop out for adventures on the weekends, long hikes, beach days, national parks, whatever we can do with the surrounding area. It’s wonderful and Covid sort of kicked it off since everyone was able to work remote finally, we figured we’d leverage that with the people who usually aren’t able to.

We’ve had a few days in the Airbnb for Workcation and it’s incredibly relaxing and scenic here. There’s views of the range on one side of the house and on the other side is the Poudre River flowing. We’re a quick bike ride outside of downtown Fort Collins so we can pop into civilization whenever needed.

Last night we went into town for a bit to check out the downtown area for the first time for most of us. Walked around, grabbed some coffee, watched the Colorado Avalanche dominate in the finals, a nice little evening.

The Poudre

We’re all pretty excited to have a few more people joining us this weekend and we’ll probably grill a bunch of food and get some yard games going. Spend some much needed quality time with friends and family in a new place for most of us.
